Food in the News

If I Knew You Were Coming I'd Of Baked A Car.

I often hear the complaint that the quality of some cars is waning. Maybe it could be due to the fact that companies are trying to crank them out so quickly. The people at Skoda decided to show the care that they put into their cars by creating one out of cake! The attention to detail is amazing. I adore that they use Golden Syrup for motor oil.

Stink-ilicious!

Blue cheese is an acquired taste. I find that people either love it or they hate it. The makers of Stilton cheese (a very stinky blue cheese out of the UK) have decided to come up with a perfume. I'm not a perfume wearer, but I find this quite exciting.

Fast Food Nation

North Americans are fans of their fast food. According to the Dietitians of Canada it is estimated that "33% of Canadians reported having eaten take-out food or ordered food in during the previous seven days". Zagat and The Today Show recently did a poll of over 5,000 people to find out which chain they preferred for their food. The results may surprise you.

Kitchen on a Budget

KitchenAid Mixer

I am not a kitchen gadget junkie. Though I know many people who are. I just am not a fan of the electric can opener or fancy juicer. My reamer and hand opener do me just fine.

Mark Bittman (The Minimalist) tends to agree, but he takes it to the next level. He claims that one can outfit their entire kitchen with only $300. The free standing KitchenAid mixer made the "Inessentials" list, I guess he doesn't do many wedding registries.

Bad As It Seems

Ever wondered if that year old grape jelly is still edible or if you should really use those gherkins that have been on the back shelf of the fridge since your last birthday?

"The Table of Condiments that Periodically Go Bad" can now save you and your family or friends from a fate of hanging on to the side of the porcelain.

Forgive me!

I have not been posting in the past few weeks. I have been busy with catering a large party, working on my house and finishing a massive paper for a class I am taking. I will make it up to you with multiple posts in the next few days.
