Canning Exchange

Once again, I stole someone else's great idea. While perusing Confessions of a Cardamom Addict one day, I came across this post. I loved the idea! Since I am a planner and like to entertain, I jumped right on it and contacted the Cooking Clubs and a few other friends to see if they would be interested in a canning exchange.

There were 6 of us that ended up participating and I am totally looking forward to enjoying every jar.

We were all treated to :

Medium Salsa - Meighen

Maple Honey Syrup with Nuts - Melanie

Bruschetta Topping - Suzanne

Spiced Blueberry Jam - Jillian

Lemon Pineapple Preserves - Julie

While cooking, I found this article from CHOW to be an invaluable resource.

Heh...when I mentioned it in RL I had many "OMG, that is a fabulous idea/why haven't we done that before?" comments.

Glad yours turned out well, mine isn't taking place until the autumn. Just did my cherry jam...not thrilled as a jam, but may rebrand it as a sweet conserve for cakes and ice cream ;)

Wish that I could have been there! I had all intentions of making preserved lemons but never found the time. Sounds like a great event and a good exchange. Perhaps you'll make it an annual event? Do you really have to sterilize each jar? That's what was causing me to perpetually proscrastinate.
